Exercise tests the Department of National Defence’s response plan in Ontario

EDGAR, Ontario — Soldiers from Land Force Central Area (LFCA) were deployed from February 25 to 27 on a domestic response exercise called Exercise DOMESTIC GUARDIAN in locations across Ontario.

Department of National Defence response plan, in Ontario, to support a domestic crisis for situations ranging from natural disasters to armed security operations.

Deployed in a supporting role to the Ontario Provincial Police in the joint military and emergency services exercise, LFCA practiced its headquarters command, control and communication procedures.

It also allowed soldiers of its domestic response companies and auxiliary security forces to practice their cordon and search operations as well as patrolling skills.
