WINNIPEG, Manitoba - Soldiers from The Fort Garry Horse (FGH, black team) and The Royal Winnipeg Rifles (R Wpg Rif, white and blue team) recently held their second annual hockey game.

Prior to the event, both teams were members of an adult hockey league that would meet annually. These games would lead to the biggest competition of the year.

Last year, the teams were in separate divisions, so Lieutenant Colonel Dave Atwell Commanding Officer (CO) of the FGH decided to make the competition official, challenging Lieutenant Colonel Tim McManus CO of the R Wpg Rif to a hockey game.

The first game ended in a tie. The success of the game prompted the COs to make it an annual event.

This year, LCol McManus led the R Wpg Rif, while CO LCol Ken Sabatier led the FGH.

The FGH won the game three to two.
