· A group of prominent Canadians including General Rick Hillier, Chief of Defense Staff, visited our troops in Afghanistan this Christmas.
· Gordon O´Connor, Minister of National Defence announced that all Reserve Force members will now be eligible to contribute to and earn benefits from the Canada Pension Plan, for all periods of Reserve service.
· On January 22nd Reservists can participate in an Online townhall with Bgen Dennis Tabbernor – Director General Land Reserve.
· January 30th the Ottawa Senators host Canadian Forces appreciation night
· RANA-FM radio has launched in Afghanistan to light up the lives of Afghans -- CBC Video Story -- RANA FM Official website
· Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter MacKay was in Afghanistan January 7th for a two-day trip to review the efforts of Canadian and Afghan soldiers.
